Crayon Characters
In advance, make large crayon cutouts in several different colors and collect colorful craft items. Cut black strips of construction paper for arms and legs.
Student Directions: Choose a crayon. Next, glue to your crayon craft items of the same color. Draw a face. Then accordion-fold the arms and legs and attach them to complete the project.

Self-Portrait
Ask your little ones to reflect on their appearance when they create these mirror paintings! Provide a child with a large round mirror and tempera paints to match her skin tone, eye color, mouth color, and hair color. Have her look into the mirror and paint her portrait on the mirror. Then carefully place a sheet of white paper on top of the mirror and rub gently to make a print.
