High-Flying Hot-Air Balloon
This colorful hot-air balloon brightens any classroom wall or window!
Supplies:
- construction paper
- poster board scraps
- white construction paper
- two 3" yarn lengths
- 3" brown construction paper square (basket)
- crayons with wrappers removed
- glue, tape, and scissors

Setup: Glue poster board scraps to a sheet of construction paper. After the glue is dry, tape the prepared construction paper to a table. Cut a hot-air balloon shape from the white construction paper.
Directions: Place the balloon cutout on top of the prepared construction paper. Use the sides of different crayons to make rubbings on the cutout. Glue an end of each length of yarn to the balloon and then glue the remaining ends to the basket as shown.

In the Clouds
Give youngsters' fine-motor skills a workout with this adorable craft.
Materials:
- 4 construction paper triangles
- light blue construction paper
- cotton balls
- crayons
- glue
Directions: To make a helicopter, place your hand on the construction paper with your fingers and thumb close together; then trace around your hand. Use the crayons to add details to the helicopter. Arrange the triangle cutouts so they resemble helicopter blades and glue them in place. To make clouds, pull apart the cotton balls and then glue them around the helicopter.
